My creative writing workshops are always inspired by local history. You will be transported to another time – it may be a thousand years ago or a hundred years ago. In small groups (six to eight) we discuss the topic, which leads to all sorts of interesting debates. The writing is for no more than twenty minutes at a time and no writing is done without prompts, discussion and information. There is not time in these sessions to edit and rewrite – it is more about being creative. Most of my attendees come again and again; they are all welcoming to newcomers, and it is a safe space to ask questions and express your creative ideas.
We have a huge amount of fun and the atmosphere is always lively, often unpredictable, and people leave feeling like the time has flown by.
Workshops are held at the Old School, New Romney where there is a small carpark and alternative parking is in a nearby public carpark or on the street. Quality drinks, biscuits and other snacks are provided. Sessions are usually on a Wednesday, with occasional Saturdays. Times are 10am-12noon, or 10am-3pm. There is also an option to do am or pm only on the full day, but please only book the afternoon if you have already done the morning session, perhaps at an earlier date.
If you cannot make a session then if you give me ten days’ notice, I will offer a full refund. If I can fill your space, then you will have a full refund. If I have to cancel, I will refund fully.
Please contact me if you are interested in a workshop even if is full as I sometimes have a last-minute cancellation.
